The First XV fixture against Canton last weekend fell victim to bizarre circumstances when the game was postponed due to the surface at Canton being declared unplayable. The surface a 3G artificial pitch had apparently been causing severe friction burns to players in a previous fixture and therefore was ruled unsafe for the contest. With several players out injured with burns Canton regretably couldn’t field a team either and had to make the tough decision to call off the game. With Llantwit’s second team, The Druids game also called off, due to player shortage and the youth team not having a fixture then it was a rugby free weekend at the club. This week though they hope to quickly return to action as the First XV take on Tylorstown in the league and The Druids also in the league face Tondu. Both games are at home k.o. 2:30pm. The youth team are on the road for a cup fixture as they take on Fairwater in the National Youth Bowl k.o. also at 2:30pm.
