New kit for the start of the new season for First XV

The First XV have unveiled two new kits for the forthcoming season. The principle kit sees a change from the clubs traditional red and black hoops choosing instead a nearly all black strip which was inspired by the history of club.
Club captain Geraint David explaining “as we approach our 130th year as a group of players we decided to go as close to the original strip as we could; which our historian Will Norman told us was completely black. There is some red in the design though and we will still be wearing our red and black hooped socks”.
The alternate or clash of colour top (There is no away strip in rugby as the home side changes on any clash of colour!) is also a new design. This time the team have chosen quite a funky green and red top which supporters will be able to get a first look this Saturday; when they take on Wattstown at home in their first league game. The team will also be wearing rainbow laces for the match in support of the towns Major Pride event.
Wattstown will be a tough start for the Llantonians in their league campaign, as they always play powerful rugby which was much in evidence last season when the sides couldn’t be split with both winning their home games in two brutal encounters.
An entertaining hard game then awaits, kick off is at 2:30pm.
The club would like to thank their kit sponsors Harris Pye, Tonic Studios, Colston Lettings, Oil Facilities Limited, In Good Nic, Farmers Pantry, D.Liscombe Aggregates, Delio, Cheltenham Surfacing and Cole Contractors for their generous support.
