With the rain beating down it looked as though Llantwit’s game against Gilfach Goch would be a wash out. With only 11 players each side the game still went ahead with the skies eventually clearing. 

Gilfach Goch started very strong getting in their first two tries in 20  minutes with two successful conversions - It appeared as though Llantwit would have their work cut out.

However this seemed to wake the Llantwit boys up, with a fierce strong attack from the forwards - Rhys B, Jack R, Lloyd M, and Mick D first in the rucks securing the ball - going through the phases, one by one, enabling the backs to get the ball up the pitch with Daniel T managing to punch through the Gilfach defensive line to score Llantwit’s first Try.

A few injuries followed with Captain Jack R coming off with a knee injury but the game took a turn in Llantwit’s favour with Dylan M slamming another Try quickly followed by Daniel T, yet again, striding up the outside to finish the first half 14-15 to Llantwit.

Llantwit u15/16s commandeered the second half with Vice Captain Ieuan H taking the lead. Their sheer determination, team work and stamina again pushing through  numerous phases to give Daniel T the opportunity to chip the ball over Gilfach’s heads and land him his second Try - successfully converted by Maison D! 

Llantwit’s fitness pulled them in the lead with a quick ball off the foot stepping past the Gilfach forwards - Maison D scored the first of his two tries. Converted by Jack R.
